Side Games Overview

Side Games let you add extra competition to your round.

They are optional games that can be played alongside your main scoring mode. Side Games do not replace your main scorecard. Your scoring mode controls how your round score is entered, while Side Games add a separate competition using your round scores or game-specific rules.

What are Side Games?

Side Games are optional games or competitions that can be added to a round.

They can make a round more competitive, social, or fun without replacing your main scorecard.

Side Games may use your hole scores, matchups, teams, or game-specific rules to calculate results.

Are Side Games the same as scoring modes?

No. Side Games are not the same as your main scoring mode.

Your scoring mode controls how your round score is entered. Side Games add a separate competition on top of the round.

For example, you may use Classic Score Entry for your main round score and also play a Side Game with your group.

What Side Games are available?

Available Side Games include:

Side Game	How it is played	How scoring works
Skins	Players compete to win each hole outright	A player wins a skin by having the best score on a hole. Tied holes may carry over depending on the game settings.
Nassau	Players compete across the front nine, back nine, and full round	Each segment is scored separately, so a player or team can win the front, back, and total match.
Match	Players or teams compete hole by hole	Each hole is won, lost, or tied. The match score is tracked by how many holes a player or team is up.
Points	Players earn points based on hole results	Points are awarded based on the selected scoring rules. The player with the most points wins.
Dots	Players earn dots for specific achievements or results	Dots are awarded throughout the round based on the game rules. The player with the most dots wins.
Wolf	A rotating Wolf chooses whether to play alone or with a partner	Points are awarded based on whether the Wolf or opposing players win the hole.
Vegas	Teams compete using a combined team score format	Team scores are combined by the game rules and compared against the other team.
Sixes	Team matchups rotate every six holes	Each six-hole segment is scored as its own team competition.
Rolling Stroke	Players compete using a stroke-based side competition	Scores are compared based on the game rules across the round.
Targets	Players compete against selected goals during the round	Progress is scored based on the targets selected, such as pars, birdies, fairways, or greens.

How do I add a Side Game?

To add a Side Game:

Start a round in 18Birdies.
Add the players who will be part of the round.
Open the Side Games option.
Choose the Side Game you want to play.
Review the game settings.
Add players or teams, if needed.
Start the Side Game.

Important: Side Games only appear when other players have been added to the round.
