Creating and Managing Your Golf Bag

Your Golf Bag is your virtual set of clubs in 18Birdies.

Set up your Golf Bag to keep track of the clubs you carry, club distances, club stats, and tracked shots by club. Once your Golf Bag is set up, 18Birdies can use your saved clubs and club distances to support club-related features, including Club Recommendations and True Distance.

What is the Golf Bag?

The Golf Bag is a virtual representation of the golf clubs you carry in your actual bag.

It helps you manage the clubs saved to your 18Birdies account so they can be used during rounds, Shot Tracking, Smart Tracking, Swing & Club Stats, Club Recommendations, and True Distance when available.

Your Golf Bag may include clubs such as:

  • Driver
  • Woods
  • Hybrids
  • Irons
  • Wedges
  • Putter

Your Golf Bag helps 18Birdies understand which clubs you carry and how far you typically hit them.

Where do I find my Golf Bag?

To find your Golf Bag:

  1. Open the 18Birdies app.
  2. Tap Me on the bottom menu.
  3. Tap Golf Bag.

How do I add a club to my Golf Bag?

To add a club to your Golf Bag:

  1. Open the 18Birdies app.
  2. Tap Me.
  3. Tap Golf Bag.
  4. Tap the plus button in the top-right corner.
  5. Select the club type: Driver, Wood, Hybrid, Iron, Wedge, or Putter.
  6. Choose the brand and model, if available.
  7. Find the club you want to add to your bag.
  8. Enter the club distance.
  9. Save the club.

After adding a club, it should appear in your Golf Bag and be available for club recommendations and shot tracking.

How do I edit a golf club in my Golf Bag?

To edit a club in your Golf Bag:

  1. Open the 18Birdies app.
  2. Tap Me.
  3. Tap Golf Bag.
  4. Select the club you want to edit.
  5. Update the available club details.
  6. Save your changes.

You are able to update details such as club brand, model, or distance.

To change a club to a different club type, you may need to delete or retire the existing club and create a new club with the correct club type.

How do I remove or retire a club?

If you no longer carry a club, you can remove or retire it from your Golf Bag.

To remove or retire a club:

  1. Open the 18Birdies app.
  2. Tap Me.
  3. Tap Golf Bag.
  4. Select the club you want to update.
  5. Tap the remove, delete, or retire option, if available.
  6. Confirm the change.

Retiring a club removes it from your active Golf Bag while keeping previously tracked shots associated with that club. A retired club may be added back to your bag later.

Deleting a club removes the club from your Golf Bag permanently. Completed round and shot data should remain on past rounds, but the deleted club cannot be brought back to your active bag.

If you rotate between different clubs depending on the course, weather, or how you want to play that day, consider retiring clubs instead of deleting them. Retiring clubs lets you keep them saved outside your active Golf Bag, making it easier to add them back when you carry them again.

What should I do if I can’t find my club?

If the exact club is not available in the club database, you may be able to add it manually.

To add a club manually:

  1. Open the 18Birdies app.
  2. Tap Me.
  3. Tap Golf Bag.
  4. Tap the plus button in the top-right corner.
  5. Select the club type.
  6. Select or manually enter the club brand.
  7. Select or manually enter the club model.
  8. Enter the club distance.
  9. Save the club.

If your club is missing from the club database and you cannot add it manually, contact Support with the club brand, model, club type, and any screenshots.

How does my Golf Bag connect to Club Recommendations and True Distance?

Your Golf Bag helps 18Birdies understand which clubs you carry and how far you hit each club.

You can use manual Shot Tracking or Smart Tracking to record shots for each club. Over time, 18Birdies can use that shot data to better understand your club distances and support future Club Recommendations, similar to a virtual caddie.

Club Recommendations and True Distance may depend on your Golf Bag, entered club distances, tracked shots, and available shot data.

For more information about how club distances, tracked shots, True Distance, and Club Recommendations work, see Understanding Swing & Club Stats and Club Recommendations and True Distance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to set up my Golf Bag?

You can use many parts of 18Birdies without fully setting up your Golf Bag.

However, adding your clubs can make club selection, Shot Tracking, club stats, Club Recommendations, and True Distance more useful.

What if I rotate between multiple clubs for my Golf Bag?

If you switch clubs in and out of your real golf bag, you can use the retire option as a workaround.

Retire the clubs you are not carrying that day instead of deleting them. This removes them from your active Golf Bag, but keeps the club saved so you can add it back later.

This can be helpful if you rotate between different wedges, hybrids, woods, or putters depending on the course or conditions.

Can I add custom clubs?

Yes. If you cannot find the exact club in the database, you may be able to manually enter the brand and model when adding a club.

Why is my club missing?

A club may be missing if it is not currently listed in the club database or if the brand or model name is listed differently.

Double-check the spelling of the brand and model. If the club still does not appear and you cannot add it manually, contact Support with the club brand, model, club type, and screenshots.

Can I change the distance for a club?

Yes. You may be able to edit a club’s distance from your Golf Bag or club stats area.

You can update club distances at any time from your Golf Bag. If you want to use manually entered distances instead of True Distance, turn off True Distance where available.

Does removing a club delete my past shots?

Removing or retiring a club from your Golf Bag does not delete your completed rounds.

Removing a club means it will no longer appear in future club selection, Shot Tracking, Club Recommendations, or other active club-related features.

Why are my Club Recommendations or True Distance wrong?

Club Recommendations and True Distance may depend on your Golf Bag, entered club distances, tracked shots, and available shot data.

If a recommendation looks wrong, check that your Golf Bag is accurate and that the club distances are entered correctly. You can manually update club distances from your Golf Bag.

For more information, see Club Recommendations and True Distance.

Does Shot Tracking affect my Golf Bag?

Shot Tracking does not create your Golf Bag, but tracked shots can help inform club-related data when the correct club is selected.

For more information, see Shot Tracking Basics and Club Recommendations and True Distance.
