Reporting Content on 18Birdies

At 18Birdies, we’re all about making the entire golf experience as fun and as friendly as possible.

That’s why we want you to know that we care about your experience in the app, and that we want to do everything we can to respond quickly and appropriately in the event that questionable content shows up, or if a user engages in conduct that falls outside of our Community Guidelines.

Reporting an Issue

There are five ways to classify your report:

Not interested in an account

We appreciate you letting us know. In the short term, Managing your followed users is a good way to prevent seeing other user's Feed posts.

A user is posting spam

Spam...you recognize it as soon as you see it, and can usually smell it from a mile away.

There are many different types of spam out there, but you should generally use the same caution you use when checking emails and apply that to content you come across in all communities.

  • Bulk tagging or mentions
  • Sharing of questionable links
  • Sharing undesired or excessive content

If we find a user is posting spam, we will let them know that their account may be compromised, or take other action, including temporarily suspending the account while we resolve the issue.

Their account may be hacked

A recent study shows that nearly two in three U.S. adults believe they have been hacked at some point. If you think an account has been hacked, here are some things to look for.

  • A significant increase in posts from the account
  • Dramatic increase or decrease in followers/following
  • Posts that are difficult to understand
  • Profile picture or name change

They are being abusive or harmful

If you come across content or behavior that you believe is abusive or harmful, please let us know immediately.

As a reminder, you can find our Community Guidelines here.

They are impersonating someone else

Please let us know if you think you, or any other 18Birdies user is being impersonated on the app and our team will look into it.

Staying Safe on Social Platforms

It's always a good practice to remain vigilant when receiving communications in the app and on the internet.

Here are some things to be cautious of in any app that offers friending and social interaction:

Any friend request or message from a name or person you do not know

18Birdies is primarily a family and close-friend relationship app. Friend requests from random people are very uncommon in 18Birdies, as most activity is only shared between you and people you have added as friends.

Be aware of the profile photo

They often use pictures of individuals found on social media or the internet, particularly those of female social media influencers. To deceive their targets, the pictures often depict the person swinging a golf club or on a golf course. Additionally, the individual in the photo is often dressed provocatively.

Report a Tournament or League

At 18Birdies, we are committed to maintaining a safe, fun, and fair environment for all golfers. While we encourage community building, there are times when it is necessary to alert our support team to issues within a specific Tournament or League.

Why Report a Tournament or League?

You should submit a report if you encounter any of the following:

  • Inappropriate Content: The Tournament or League name, description, or associated images contain offensive, vulgar, or hate speech.
  • Harassment or Bullying: The group is being used to target, harass, or bully specific individuals.
  • Spam or Scams: The Tournament or League appears to be created solely for advertising, solicitation, or fraudulent activity.
  • Suspicious Activity: You suspect cheating, score manipulation, or other actions that violate fair play standards.

How to Report a Tournament or League

If you see something, say something. Reporting is anonymous and helps us keep the community safe.

  1. Open the Tournament or League homepage in the app.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Report.
  3. Complete the Report Form.
    • Note: Please be as specific as possible regarding the issue so we can handle it appropriately. If you would like a member of our team to follow up with you regarding the resolution, please mention that in your description.
  4. Tap Got It on the Report Success page to finish.

What happens next? Once submitted, our Customer Support team will receive your report immediately. We will review the details and take the necessary action to resolve the issue.
