Add Friends
Golf is better with friends!
After creating an 18Birdies account, you will have the opportunity to add friends from existing 18Birdies golfers, your phone contact book, or from your Facebook contacts.
If you don’t want to add any friends during signup, or don’t yet have any phone contacts that are using 18Birdies, you can invite friends to join at a later date. Just follow these steps...
Invite Friends
- Open the app and tap the Add Friend icon on the top of the screen.
- Here, you can add friends already using our app, or invite anyone in your phone contact book by sending an SMS or email.
Add a Friend With QR Codes
- Launch the 18Birdies app.
- Tap 'Me' on the bottom menu bar to open your profile.
- Tap the QR code icon on the screen to pull up your QR code.
- Have your friend scan your code and tap 'Add Friend'
Tip: You can tap the 'Scan' or 'My QR Code' to switch between the QR scanner and your own QR code.
When you share your contact book with 18Birdies, we will store your contacts on our secure servers. Then, each time you log into the app, we will scan your contacts to see if anyone you know has joined the app. When we detect this, we can make a recommendation (in your Feed, within the Community tab, or via email) and you can easily connect!
At 18Birdies, your privacy is of paramount importance. We will never send a friend request on your behalf without your permission, and will never use your private data for anything other than making recommendations and tailoring your app experience.
