Golf is not always played one scorecard at a time. Team Scoring Modes let you pair up, compete as a group, and play popular team formats like Scramble, Best Ball, and Alternate Shot.

Use a team scoring mode when your group wants the app to score the round based on a team format instead of only individual scores.

What are Team Scoring Modes?

Team Scoring Modes are scoring formats where players compete together as a team.

Instead of only tracking each player’s individual score, 18Birdies uses the selected format to calculate the team score.

Team Scoring Modes are useful for:

• Casual group rounds
• Charity events
• Partner formats
• Team competitions
• Beginner-friendly rounds

How do I start a team scoring round?

To start a team scoring round:

1. Open the 18Birdies app.
2. Tap Play.
3. Select your course.
4. Open the round setup options.
5. Choose the team scoring mode or format you want to play.
6. Add players to the round.
7. Assign teams, if prompted.
8. Review the round settings.
9. Start the round.

Important: Make sure the correct team format is selected before starting the round. You cannot switch into a team scoring mode during an active round. To change to a team format, you will need to start a new round.

How do team scorecards work?

Team scorecards may look different from individual scorecards because the app is scoring the round based on the selected team format.

Depending on the format, the scorecard may show:

• Team score
• Team names
• Player names
• Hole-by-hole team scoring
• Individual scores, if available
• Gross or net scoring, if available

Some individual stats or shot tracking features may be limited in team formats because the team score may not represent each player’s individual ball from start to finish.

How do I keep score for multiple players or teams?

If you are keeping score for a team round, you can enter scores for multiple players or teams from the score entry screen or scorecard.

To keep score during a team round:

1. Open the score entry screen or scorecard.
2. Select the player or team you want to score.
3. Enter the score or stats required for the format.
4. Move to the next player or team, if needed.
5. Save the score before moving on.

Available score entry options may vary by team format.

Can I play Stableford rounds?

Stableford is currently available for tournament formats. It is not currently available for standard non-tournament rounds.

As a workaround, you can create a one-round tournament for your group and select Stableford as the tournament scoring format.

To play a Stableford round with your group:

1. Create a tournament in 18Birdies.
2. Set it up as a one-round tournament.
3. Choose Stableford as the scoring format.
4. Invite or add the players in your group.
5. Start the tournament round.
