Getting Started as a League Organizer

18Birdies Leagues let organizers manage recurring golf competitions, league members, tournaments, announcements, and season leaderboards in one place.

A league is ideal for groups that play regularly and want to track performance across a season.

League organizers can invite members, create league tournaments, manage standings, post announcements, and add admins to help run the league.

Golfers who do not have 18Birdies installed will be taken to the App Store or Google Play Store to download the app. After creating an account, they can accept the league invitation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I remove a tournament from a league?

Currently, a tournament can only be removed from a league if the tournament has not started yet.

If the tournament has already started, you can exclude it from the league leaderboard instead. This keeps the tournament in the league but prevents it from counting toward league standings.

We are working on making tournaments removable from leagues at any point.

How do I add another league admin?
  1. Open the league homepage
  2. Tap the three-dot menu
  3. Tap the Gear icon
  4. Tap Add Admin from League Members
  5. Select the league member
  6. Confirm the admin change

League admins can help manage league settings, tournaments, members, scores, leaderboards, and announcements.

Can I add multiple admins?

Yes. League organizers can add multiple admins from the league member list.

How do I remove a league member?
  1. Open your league
  2. Scroll to the leaderboard
  3. Tap View Full Leaderboard
  4. Tap the three-dot menu next to the player
  5. Tap Remove The Member from League

If you do not use league leaderboards, you may need to create a league leaderboard before the manual removal option appears.

How do I manually add a player’s round to a leaderboard?

League organizers are currently not able to manually add a player’s completed round to a tournament or league leaderboard.

The player will need to log their score through the tournament round in 18Birdies for the score to appear on the leaderboard.

As a workaround, league organizers may be able to give the player league starting points as a placeholder. This can help account for the missing round in the league standings, but it does not replace the player’s actual tournament score or round details.

Can I run multiple league tournaments at the same time?

Yes. You can create multiple tournaments for the same day or timeframe within the same league.

If multiple tournaments are active at the same time, the league leaderboard can aggregate players and display cumulative points earned across those events.

Can league tournaments be played at different courses?

Yes. League tournaments can be scheduled at different courses.

A league may have a home course for organization or discovery, but individual league tournaments can be set up at other courses.

Can I post announcements to league members?

Yes. League admins can post announcements from the league homepage.

Can I export my league member list?

Yes. The league homepage includes an option to export the member list.

Are leagues free?

Yes. Leagues are free to create and join. Premium is not required.

Can 18Birdies handle league payments?

No. 18Birdies does not handle payments, buy-ins, payouts, or prize money.

Any league payments must be managed outside of 18Birdies. 18Birdies is not responsible for financial transactions, payouts, or payment disputes outside the app.
