Managing Rounds Included in your Handicap

You can review which rounds count toward your 18Birdies Handicap, exclude rounds from the calculation, and input your own handicap.

Where can I see which rounds count toward my handicap?

You can review which rounds count toward your handicap from your Round History or your Handicap graph.

To view handicap status from Round History:

1. Open the 18Birdies app.
2. Tap Me on the bottom menu.
3. Scroll to Rounds Played.
4. Select a round.
5. Review the handicap status shown for that round.

A round may show a status such as Included, Not Included, Not Eligible, or Replaced.

You can also review included rounds from your handicap graph:

1. Open the 18Birdies app.
2. Tap Me on the bottom menu.
3. Tap Handicap.
4. Review the rounds shown on the handicap graph.

On the handicap graph, the highlighted rounds show which rounds are currently included in your handicap calculation.

Once you have 20 or more eligible rounds, 18Birdies uses the lowest 8 differentials from your most recent 20 eligible rounds. If you have fewer than 20 eligible rounds, the number of highlighted rounds depends on how many eligible rounds you have played.

What do handicap round statuses mean?

Handicap round statuses explain whether a round is being used in your 18Birdies Handicap.

A replaced round can still appear in your Round History, but it is not part of your current handicap calculation.

How do I exclude a round from my handicap?

You can exclude a round from your handicap from the round settings.

To exclude a round:

1. Open the 18Birdies app.
2. Tap Me.
3. Scroll to Rounds Played.
4. Select the round you want to exclude.
5. Tap the three-dot menu in the bottom-right corner.
6. Tap Round Settings.
7. Select the option to exclude the round from your handicap.
8. Save your changes.

Excluding a round removes that round from your 18Birdies Handicap calculation.

When should I exclude a round?

You may want to exclude a round if it should not represent your normal handicap.

Examples include:

• Practice rounds
• Rounds with unusual scoring rules
• Rounds entered under the wrong tee or course
• Rounds affected by incorrect course data
• Rounds where the score was entered incorrectly and cannot be corrected
• Rounds played in unusual conditions that you do not want included in your 18Birdies Handicap

For the most accurate handicap, include normal individual stroke-play rounds that reflect your actual score.

Why is my round not eligible for handicap?

A round may be marked Not Eligible if it does not meet handicap calculation requirements.

Common reasons include:

• The round was not a complete 9-hole or 18-hole scored round
• The round was a partial round
• The round did not include a complete front 9 or back 9
• The course or tee is missing Course Rating
• The course or tee is missing Slope Rating
• The selected course, tee, or gender rating is incomplete
• A tee color was not selected
• The course par or rating data does not meet eligibility rules
• The round was played under a format that does not support handicap calculation
• The round did not sync correctly

A common reason a round is Not Eligible or not included is that a tee color was not selected.

This can happen if a friend adds you to a round and you start the round without selecting your tee. Try selecting a tee color for the round and then check whether the round becomes eligible and your handicap calculates correctly.

If the round appears to have the correct score, tee color, rating, and slope but is still marked Not Eligible, contact Support with screenshots and a photo of the official scorecard.

Can I input my own handicap?

Yes. You can manually enter your own handicap for scoring, stats, and your profile.

To input your own handicap:

1. Open the 18Birdies app.
2. Tap Me on the bottom menu.
3. Tap Handicap.
4. On the bottom of the screen, find Set a custom handicap for scoring stats in your profile.
5. Enter the handicap number.
6. Tap Confirm to save.

When a custom handicap is entered, 18Birdies may use that number for supported scoring, stats, and profile areas.

Important: Entering a custom handicap does not delete your 18Birdies Handicap history. 18Birdies may still calculate your handicap from eligible rounds.
