Does 18Birdies Calculate Handicap?
Not at this time.
To prepare for the new World Handicap System set forth by the USGA and R&A, 18Birdies has removed handicap calculations from the app.
When registering a new account, you have the ability to enter your official handicap as provided by the USGA, or you can enter an estimated number. You have the ability to manually update and maintain your handicap at any time, right from the app.
18Birdies will still use that manually entered handicap to accurately adjust for course handicaps and net scoring, by using the official hole handicaps, slope and rating information provided by the USGA.
In the near future, we will look to fully integrate with the USGA to bring fully compliant GHIN handicaps to our users.
If you are interested in getting an official USGA handicap, please visit the USGA to learn how to get a handicap index. Once you are set up, you can manually enter your tracked handicap in 18Birdies.
Manually Update Your Handicap
- Open the app and tap Me on the bottom menu bar.
- Tap the blue number above Handicap. If you did not enter a handicap at registration, this will show as ‘N/A’.
- Enter your handicap number on the number pad.
- Tap Done to save and return to your profile.
